1/23/09 - 1/30/09 Weekly Totals

A little over my normal budget this week but my 4 week average is less than $100 and what more could you ask for with a family of 5? My Dad also stays with us a few nights a week so make that a family of 6 half of the time. I'm still very proud of my 87% weekly savings! We have plenty of cheese to take us to the next sale and with baseball season starting you can never have too many Gatorade/Powerades. I may sneak back to Kroger today and grab some more of the Fiber One bars (I had one for breakfast yesterday and they are really good!) and maybe some more cheese since I have a few coupons and blinkies left. Since they are "Mega Sale" items it makes the Fiber One bars .99 and the Kraft Cheese only .74!
  • Total of Products Purchased $616.62
  • Savings $534.83
  • Out of Pocket spent $81.79
  • I saved 87% this week!

Coupon preview 1/18/09

It looks like a great week for coupons. There should be 3 inserts.

There are some good Kellogg's coupons that will help you get your cereal stockpile started if you use them at Publix this week.

example: Fruit Loops BOGO 2/4.29 - 1.50/2 coupon = $1.40 per box!

Once again, I went way over my "normal" budget but again it was an exceptional week at Publix with BOGO's and coupon match-ups. I got stocked up on sugar, Fruit Loops, cleaning supplies, oatmeal, Gatorade, fruit snacks, toothpaste, soap, Pringles, toilet paper, yogurt, apple juice, frozen veggies, and muffin mix.

I would be really surprised if there is a decent Publix sale next week. I certainly don't see how they could top the last 2 weeks.

Publix 1/16/09 - Round 2

So here is Round 2 Publix this week. I went back for my cold items as well as a few more of the really good deals that I had coupon matches for. I'll spare you the boring details and not repeat all of the items from my first trip. Instead I'll highlight the really good deals.

Weekly Totals

Good morning! I have 2 more trips to log for this week and then I will be posting my weekly totals. I did much more shopping than I normally do this week due to some extra good coupons last weekend combined with 2 great weeks of Publix sales, a ton of FREE products at CVS and Walgreens, and Captain Crunch on sale at Kroger. LOL. I also had some $3 off $15 CVS coupons that were expiring so took a few extra trips to Publix to use them. My normal spending is nowhere near as much as I have spent this week but you see that I am well stocked on pain medicine, dishwasher detergent, cheese, granola bars, and Jello pudding. I have 3 young kids (and a husband who takes his lunch everyday) that are thrilled with the cheese, granola bars and pudding. It doesn't expire until April/May so we have plenty of time to use it all.

Welcome!

Since I started couponing I have noticed that anybody and everybody has a blog, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. I'm really excited about what I have learned to do over the last few months and I want to share it with anyone who will listen. Grocery shopping used to be such a chore for me and I dreaded paying $150 per week for groceries only to have to completely restock the next week. Well not anymore! My pantry, cabinets, and closets are overflowing and I have 3 freezers jam packed with food. My bathroom cabinets are fully stocked with several months (maybe years) supply of toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap and razors. And toilet paper . . . I have not paid for toilet paper in MONTHS!
